Joanne Hunter - Manager

I am the proud owner of Georgie Porgy's since 2011 and DSL (Designated Safeguarding Leader). I'm passionate about being able to offer Early Years Education and Childcare for our 2, 3 & 4 year olds. It gives me great pleasure supporting children and their families in our community. I am keen on attending the gym and yoga classes and I also enjoy teaching our children yoga too. In my spare time I like to take long walks with my sausage dog 'Sid' and travelling; Lindos in Greece is my favourite place.

Elisha Bainbridge - Room Leader Yellow Room (L3)

Hi, my name is Elisha and I am a Level 3 practitioner working in our yellow room with the 2 year olds. I love watching the children grow into their own characters and watching them develop during their time here. I'm bubbly, happy and can be as crazy as the children want me to be. In my spare time I enjoy spending the weekends with my family and doing my own things.

Shannon Lockey - Room Leader Green Room (L3)

I am Georgie Porgy's SENCO Officer and a Level 3 practitioner working in the green room with our 3 - 4 year olds. I like to ensure the children always have the best opportunities on offer to them to support their development and learning with us and to leave our setting happy and wanting to come back. In my spare time I like to get myself into a creative zone by drawing/colouring, listening to music or I'm enjoying cuddles with my cat 'Teddy'.

Sam Hubbard (L3)

I am Georgie Porgy's Deputy Designated Safeguarding Leader (DDSL) and a Level 3 practitioner working with our 3 - 4 year olds in the green room. I am a mum of 2 children and in my spare time I enjoy gardening when the weather is nice and being creative by making cards for my friends and family.

I love to get creative and do lots of different paintings using our fingers, paint sponges and paintbrushes with the children and in my spare time I enjoy going out with friends and spending time at the gym.

Louise McSweeney (L3)

I am a Level 3 practitioner and I work in the green room with our 3 - 4 year olds. I love to be able to help a child grow into their own little person and being able to support them and their family in the most important early year stages. Making a child have fun while learning and wanting to come back to school is the best part of the job. I am a mum of two and in my spare time I love going on days out, walking and making lots of memories with them.

Each member of staff will become a keyperson who will regularly liaise with parent/carers in order to build a trusting partnership with them for their child and to give them the opportunity to keep updated with their child's progress and to enable respect and confidence in sharing information safely. As a starting point, the keyperson will ask parents to fill in a 'all about me' form and possibly a simple 'family tree' in order for the keyperson to start making that socialisation using familiar backgrounds with your child.

During the first term of your child starting with Georgie Porgy's, they will be settling into a new environment, exploring new toys and activities and mixing with new faces being children and adults. This is the time where your child's keyperson will complete simple observations over a few weeks to establish learning stages, activities planned and the progression of your child - this will all be linked to the EYFS ages & stages of development. Keypersons will also complete a 2 year old progress check which will be a short report highlighting your child's development in the 3 prime areas along with a target box and a comments section for parents to give any feedback if they choose too. This report is handed back and placed in your child's learning journey folder.

Our Garden Area

In our garden which is open at different times during the day, we have lots to explore like: diggers/cars, sand/water play, kitchens with utensils and food to be cooked, creative work to be made including chalking, physical equipment such as slides, bikes, balancing beams and so much more that your child will love.

It again opens up so many new opportunities for your child to learn through play and explore a new environment, one that supports their development in all areas and you really see the children's personality come to life.

Our garden will be used daily (weather depending) and the opportunities of different levels of learning will always be on offer. The 2 year old room will use the garden at different times to the 3 - 4 year olds due to staff ratio and to allow every child to get involved with all the resources available. In the warmer weather, suncream and hats will be applied if brought in and re-applied when needed and in the colder weather, suitable clothes must be worn as the garden will still be in use.

Risk assessments are carried out every morning and monitored throughout the sessions.
